Australian PointsBet the New Sports Betting Operator in West Virginia

Veteran sports betting operator PointsBet will launch in West Virginia, after support from the W.V. Lottery Commission.
PointsBet already has operations ongoing in five other states, namely; New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Colorado, and Michigan. On top of that, they have also established their presence in the iGaming market in New Jersey and Michigan.
PointsBet first broke into the West Virginian market with the help of Penn National Gaming back in July 2019. They also have plans to launch an online casino in West Virginia sometime in 2021.

With a significant dip in sports betting revenue from June to July 2021, PointsBet joining the market could push back profits in the sector. Also, with the almost 22% increase in monthly iGaming revenue from June to July 2021, PointsBet’s expansion plans into the West Virginia online casino space may increase overall competitiveness.
