Betly is Coming Back to West Virginia with Online Casino and Sportsbook
A new WV online casino and sportsbook app will be released this summer, according to Betly, which shut off services to its online sportsbook on June 18.
Last week, parent company Delaware North announced the opening of its integrated online sportsbook and casino, accessible via browsers on PCs and Macs as well as through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The new software replaces International Gaming Technology (IGT) and operates on the Gamewise platform. The following IGT slot machine games will still be available to West Virginia residents: Fortune Coin, Fortune Coin Boost Classic, Wheel of Fortune Elegant Emeralds, Triple Gold Gold Spin, Ruby Riches, Hawaiian Getaway, Cleopatra Grand, and Wild Fury Jackpots.
According to Gamewise General Manager Todd San Jule, the business appreciates the WV Lottery Commission’s thoughtful examination of Betly and is thrilled that its new sportsbook and online casino are now accessible via the relevant online app platforms.
The WV Online Casino Market Welcomes Betly
Before its six-week closure, Betly solely allowed sports betting in West Virginia. It is now the second online casino to open in 2023 and the newest in West Virginia.
WynnBET Casino also opened its retail casinos at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino and Racetrack and Mardi Gras Casino Resort under Delaware North’s license. But as of right now, the WynnBET Casino will shut down in the upcoming weeks.
While waiting for the reopening, the following retail casino relationships are presently active by these online casinos in WV:
- Delaware North: Betly and WynnBET (WynnBET has recently stated that its online gambling activities in the state would be discontinued);
- Mountaineer Casino: BetRivers, Caesars;
- Hollywood Casino Charles Town: PointsBet, DraftKings, and Barstool;
- The Greenbrier: Golden Nugget, BetMGM.
