Fanatics Aren’t Yet Making an Impact in the WV Online Casino Market
One of the most anticipated launches in history has been the entry of Fanatics into the gaming business. As we reported, Fanatics launched the sportsbook in WV earlier this year, however, the new operator will need some time to establish itself in the market.
Except for the last day of the month, the West Virginia Lottery recorded revenue for WV online casinos for the whole month of December. Despite this, Fanatics’s overall influence may still be very well estimated.
Fanatics’ WV Online Casino Launch Gets Off to a Poor Start
Prior to West Virginia, Fanatics Sportsbook debuted in other states. In November, the new operator replaced PointsBet with its own branded online casino, making its debut in WV.
Now that Fanatics has been up and running for some time, it’s time to analyze the sort of influence the new platform is making. Instead of breaking down income by operator, the West Virginia Lottery does it per licensee. Even though precise numbers are difficult to interpret, Fanatics Casino hasn’t had a significant influence yet.
Fanatics has partnerships with DraftKings WV Casino and Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. The licensee brought in the following sum of money throughout the last several months:
- September: $4.8 million;
- October: $6.65 million;
- November: $5,3 million;
- December: $5.5 million, with one day missing.
In November, the Hollywood licensee experienced a great deal of upheaval. November was the month when Hollywood WV Casino started after merging with ESPN Bet and Barstool left the market.
October was the last month that DraftKings, PointsBet, and Barstool were partners of Hollywood Casino Charles Town.
Seeing as how Hollywood, DraftKings, and Fanatics are now firmly established as the newest players, it will be fascinating to see how the licensee does in the future.
